Lavender Jadeite Cabochon Pendant
It is difficult to find a flawless piece of lavender jadeite of the right colour and translucency at a reasonable price. Quality jadeite of this colour has always been measured in carats rather than grams and costs an arm and a leg. I came across a block of average quality stone of indifferent colour but when I cut into it was delighted to find a small piece of pure lavender which was large enough to fashion into this cabochon, weighing just over 5 carats, which is the centrepiece of this pendant.
