Tangbai Jade Earrings with gold fixings

This is a very sweet pair of earrings carved from jade mined in the Kunlun Mountains near Qiemo in northwest China. They call this type of jade ‘sugar white’. The sugar part refers to the brown colour of the jade. I think when they coined the term for this type of stone, there was no processed white sugar.
